HELLO!
Welcome in. Glad you decided to stop by.
I’ve had my hands in a lot of different pies over the years—digital magazine editing, indie bookselling, and social justice-based nonprofit work, to name a few. Nowadays, as a freelance editor of creative work, I like to help writers tap into the seismic nature of storytelling, and I’m always on the lookout for new projects. If you’re interested in collaborating and think I might be able to help you with your short fiction, a personal essay, or a book-length manuscript you’re trying to wrangle, please have a look at my editorial services. I’m also available to write for you! Content, copy, ghostwriting, profiles/interviews, literary journalism, creative work—if you’re interested in working together in any of these capacities, please drop me a line. I’d love to chat.
In my day-to-day, I’m a Fiction Editor at The Offing, as well as the Editor-in-Chief of Midnight Breakfast, a literary magazine I co-founded in 2014. A handful of years ago, The Billfold interviewed us about our process, how we build community through readership, and what it means to pay writers in today’s literary landscape. When not immersed in other writers’ edits, you can often find me knee-deep in my own. I hold an MFA in Fiction from the Bennington Writing Seminars, and my writing has received support from the Tin House Writers Workshop and The Ruby, an arts-and-letters space for women and non-binary artists and writers in the Bay Area, where I was a Creative-in-Residence from 2022-2023.
I call San Francisco home, and my off-hours are spent cooking, drinking copious amounts of coffee and tea (massive love for Lady Falcon Coffee Club, T-We, and Flying Bird Botanicals), and vacillating between terrible reality shows and the Criterion Channel. I also hold an M. Phil. in Film History and Theory from Trinity College Dublin, and can talk your ear off about shot composition, parallel editing, and the beauty of the long take.
